FOREWORD

Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) is pleased to announce that the 26th Small Powertrains and Energy Systems Technology Conference (SETC2022), digital and in-person, will be held at Arcrea HIMEJI in Himeji, Hyogo, Japan.
The conference is jointly sponsored by JSAE and SAE International with the support of Japan Land Engine Manufacturers Association (LEMA).
JSAE is asking you to share your experience and knowledge on small powertrain applications by submitting an abstract for the SETC2022.
Attendees are also encouraged to meet experts of OEMs, suppliers and academia from around the world, and discuss the challenges and developments in small powertrains and energy systems technology with them. This is the reason why JSAE is going to hold the conference in such a way that you will attend either in person or through our digital offering.
Although we had no option but to cancel two conferences of SETC in a row due to the tragic pandemic caused by COVID-19, now, thanks to generous support of yours and painstaking efforts of the committee members, we have resumed the preparation for the coming conference of the year 2022. We would like to express our deep appreciation. Also, together with local people of Himeji, the town of the world famous castle, we are looking forward to the day to meet you in the renovated SETC2022.
Be aware that, in the case of another surge of the pandemic, the conference could be operated online only.

CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Information for Exhibition

OEMs, suppliers and academia will be given an opportunity to exhibit products and technical information during the conference at the venue.
Exhibition is available for On-site participants only.

Information for Poster Session

Poster session in conjunction with technical session will be also provided to graduate & undergraduate university students, and their researchers.
This is available for On-site participants only.

Information for Advertisements and Sponsorship

The opportunity to post advertisement banner and/or advertisement on the preliminary & final program will be offered.
Furthermore, conference sponsorship program for some digital materials will be planned.

Other Information

Technical papers and NPT papers will become available and can be downloaded at 'My Page' of registration webpage until November 30.
Authors' presentation material will not be provided to anyone.
Authors' presentation video will become available as on-demand streaming until November 30, but not provided to anyone.
Considering online presenters from the regions with larger time differences such as Europe and North & South America, SETC2022 will allow them, if preferred, to use their pre-recorded presentation materials for their online presentation and cut Q&A sessions. Please be aware this type of presenters will not be qualified for the presentation awards.

Note: Automobiles, Large vessels, Large aircraft, Locomotives, and Spaceships are out of the subject.

1. LANGUAGE: English

No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

2.Submission of Abstract (On-line submission)

Abstracts must be submitted online via this website to only ONE session, with 300 to 500 words.
Upon submission, you will receive an automatic reply with your paper offer number. If you do not receive a paper offer number at that point, please retry on-line submission or contact the secretariat shown on the bottom of this page.

The following information will be required during on-line submission process:

A summary that states the objective of the paper/presentation
Paper title
Name of the author and co-authors and all contact information required
Selection of the most appropriate technical session

The abstract should clearly state:

The main issues and conclusions
The process by which the conclusions were reached
The significance of the work to progress of the relevant engineering area

3. Papers/Presentations

The papers should be written and presented at the conference, which should be applications oriented.
No paper will be accepted without a presentation.

The papers should be prepared in hard metric (SI) units.
Material of a purely descriptive nature or containing commercialism should be omitted.
Final manuscripts should make a contribution to the state-of-the-art technology or present a comprehensive review, be of high technical quality with conclusions supported by technical data.
A presenting author, when his/her final manuscript accepted, is asked to make on-line advanced registration via this website linked to the registration system and also to bring his/her own PC for presentation to the venue.
Excellent papers and presentations will be awarded prizes.
Your technical paper could be selected for SAE journal.

SETC would like to be a beneficial conference for many participants by providing an opportunity to widely introduce new products, new services and the technologies used in these products or services. For its aim, the New Product Technology Session is newly planned in this SETC2022. If you have an interest and want to give a presentation of your products or services, please download and refer PDF file (https://www.setc-jsae.com/npts/npts.pdf) to enter for this session. The conference registration fee for the presenter of this session will be free or discounted. We look forward to your entry.

LOCAL INFORMATION

The city of Himeji is located at southwestern part of Hyogo Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan, surrounded by mountains and the sea, the city has developed as a transportation hub of western Japan.
Himeji is very famous for its magnificent castle,'Himeji Castle', registered both a national treasure and a UNESCO world heritage site.
Blessed with a mild climate and natural beauty, the city has realized excellent cultural characteristics through its long history as a castle town.
